Senior Data Scientist (NLP) Natural Language Processing – Neuroscience & Mental Health

Location: Oxford (Hybrid twice a week)

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000

We are seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist with a focus on NLP to drive our research and innovation to the next level.

About Us:

My client are a pioneering biotech start-up at the forefront of neuroscience research, dedicated to developing innovative solutions for mental health challenges. You will join a interdisciplinary team collaborating to explore the intricacies of the brain and create data-driven approaches utilising NLP to revolutionize treatments and interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of Data Scientists and healthcare data analysts, providing mentorship, guidance, and support in their professional development and project execution.
• Work closely with the Senior Leadership team to plan the AI Team’s development roadmap.
• Work collaboratively with the Research Team to ensure that the data structuring models can best serve research applications.

Qualifications:

• Masters/PHD level degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Neuroscience, or a related field.
• High level of knowledge of NLP techniques, including experience applying Large Language Models (LLM) for text processing.
• Proficient in Python
• High level of knowledge of machine learning methods
• Experience as a team leader, mentor or supervisor, with a desire to help grow a team of Data Scientists through line management and technical leadership.

The Package:

£55,000-£65,000

Oxford (hybrid) 2 times a week onsite

25 days holiday + Bank Holidays
