OIT ONLY RECRUITMENT: This recruitment is open only to current fulltime employees of the Office of Information Technology for the State of Colorado. Are you a versatile team player and cross-functional contributor who’s skilled in IT Architectural Development? As our new Sr. Solutions Architect, you will be the business and technical authority for an array of State of Colorado IT architecture, offering your expertise, experience and design ideas to support the OIT and Agency IT architectures. You will develop, define, and implement enterprise technology standards and oversee the Government Data Advisory Board to define a statewide data strategy for transparency and sharing of information. Some of the important duties that you will perform include: Bring best in class technologies, innovation, and creativity to the table in developing technical solutions to solve complex multi-dimensional problems.Perform a wide range of highly technical and advisory duties associated with the design, implementation and support of OIT Applications solutions.Provide technology leadership by architecting, prototyping, researching, recommending, documenting, and assisting in implementing and evaluating technical solutions for business issues whether purchased or developed. Interpret business, technical, regulatory, and architectural requirements in researching and recommending solutions. Collaborate with CTO staff to establish standards and disciplined techniques for technical activities like creating new code, restructuring existing code, and maintaining version control and security.Promote the understanding of OIT Architecture and industry standard patterns and practices.Plan initiatives with OIT’s functional area teams based on budget, approaches and infrastructure to the OIT architecture governing principles and identify when it is necessary to modify underlying business processes or the OIT architecture standards to accommodate needs.

If this posting indicates “remote from anywhere in CO” in the title, periodic reporting to the primary state work location designated for the position is required. All remote work must be performed in Colorado. While candidates from out of state will be considered for this role, the candidate selected for the position must relocate and reside in Colorado on the first day of their new position. There is no form of relocation assistance, financial or otherwise, available for any position. A reasonable timeframe for relocation will be established on an individual basis, while considering business needs, and determining a start date.
