We have a unique and exciting opportunity to join our Water team in Sydney as a Senior Water Strategy Consultant. In this position, you’ll be responsible for growing and delivering a range of water strategy and infrastructure projects across the Australasia region, while delivering quality outcomes. You’ll also undertake the majority of your work at the strategic end of the project lifecycle, this may include developing strategic business cases, undertaking feasibility/optioneering studies and developing/advising on policy within the water sector.

The Opportunity

• Working with our Primary key clients including Sydney Water and the NSW Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
• In addition to Project Delivery, you will be expected to help diversify our client base by growing relationships and winning work with others.
• You will be managing bidding activities for water sector projects within Arup, learning and implementing internal systems and processes.
• You’ll also be working closely with our local business leader for the water sector in NSW, with bids, projects and potentially client relationship responsibilities delegated to you as required.
• You may also be expected to provide leadership/mentorship for our growing advisory/strategy team, including technical mentorship to more junior consultants.

Is this role right for you?

• Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, economics or similar area.
• Relevant experience working in the water sector and ideally the strategic phase of the project lifecycle within a consulting business environment. Experience of working across the energy sector will also be viewed positively.
• ability to guide and inspire teams to achieve shared goals, leveraging diverse strengths and fostering a cooperative environment.
• ability to create organized plans and execute them efficiently, managing resources to meet deadlines and adapting to changes.
• Ability to build positive relationships by understanding needs and delivering value-added solutions, acting as a trusted partner.
