Role: Product Owner – Data Science and Machine Learning (Pre-Sales Focus)

Location: Knoxville, TN

Duration: Fulltime or 6 Months Contract to hire

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Owner with expertise in owning and selling products related to Data Science and Machine Learning (ML). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ML Engineering, Data Science, and Pre-Sales, enabling them to drive the development, marketing, and successful adoption of ML products and solutions. As a key member of our team, you will take ownership of the product lifecycle from ideation to commercialization, leveraging your technical proficiency and business acumen to deliver value to our customers.

Responsibilities:

Take ownership of the end-to-end product lifecycle for Data Science and Machine Learning products, including ideation, development, go-to-market strategy, and sales enablement.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success, to define product vision, roadmap, and priorities.

Lead market research and competitive analysis to identify market opportunities, customer needs, and key differentiators for our ML products.

Define and prioritize product features and enhancements based on market demand, customer feedback, and strategic objectives.

Develop compelling product narratives, value propositions, and sales collateral to effectively communicate the benefits and use cases of our ML products.

Drive pre-sales activities, including product demonstrations, proof of concepts, technical consultations, and customer presentations, to showcase the value proposition and secure new business opportunities.

Collaborate with sales teams to develop sales strategies, pricing models, and customer engagement plans to maximize product adoption and revenue growth.

Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to internal teams and customers on ML product capabilities, best practices, and industry trends.

Monitor product performance and customer feedback, iteratively refining features and functionalities to enhance product value and customer satisfaction.

Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and customer needs in Data Science and ML, continuously improving product offerings and maintaining a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.

Over 10 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role, with a focus on Data Science and Machine Learning products.

Strong background in ML Engineering, Data Science, and Pre-Sales, with hands-on experience in developing, marketing, and selling ML products and solutions.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences effectively.

Proven track record of driving product adoption and revenue growth through effective pre-sales activities and customer engagements.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and a passion for driving business impact through innovative solutions.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proactive and results-driven approach to work.
