In the Detecting Financial Crime (DFC) unit, we have brought together every activity the bank undertakes to detect financial crime, whether at our Dutch offices and branches, our subsidiaries in the Netherlands and elsewhere, or our challenger banks. By combining knowledge, expertise, and joining forces, we can do a better job of keeping our banking systems free of financial crime and embracing new developments. Your job

In your role as data analyst, you are part of the I&D Data analytics – Process Design team (part of DFC). The I&D Data analytics team consists of around 10 members. Team members have a background in data analytics and/or data science and combine it with business expertise. You will work closely with colleagues in the various client units and with colleagues in other teams in DFC. Therefore, you collaborate with stakeholders on a global level, including second line parties.

Working environment

Established a few years ago, DFC is further maturing. The fact that the department is in transition will give extra depth to your role. In this dynamic environment, you will have the opportunity to help the department get to the next stage and initiate improvements. DFC has six different units, each of which has multiple teams; there are data analysts, operational specialists, lean consultants, management consultants and subject matter experts. Thanks to our multidisciplinary approach, you will learn about different disciplines. And the fun part is, you will get to interact with the entire bank.

• You are enterprising, creative and a team player; you do not mind a changing environment and you thrive on taking initiative.
• You are able to do analyses from end to end. You start with understanding the requirements for risk mitigating measures, translate them into code, visualize and present the results to stakeholders.
• You are comfortable challenging the business requirements and providing suggestions for improvements based on data insights.
• You know how to balance additional complexity in analyses and added value to find the optimal way to mitigate risks.
• You communicate clearly and can translate complex technical insights into understandable information for non-technical stakeholders to enable decision making.
• You get energy from understanding the business perspective and finding the why behind the question.
• You can analyse large amounts of data using tooling such as SQL or Python (Pyspark)
• You have at least 3 years of working experience in a data analytics or related role.

The following is a pre:

• Experience with dashboarding to give risk experts the opportunity to make better informed decisions and assess the impact of choices on thresholds.
• Experience in the anti-money laundering domain.

We are offering

• The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
• The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
• Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
• Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
