Data analyst for editorial and consulting work Full Time

Global Corporate Venturing is a media, events and professional services company serving the corporate venture capital community. We are looking for a data analyst to work with both the editorial team and our GCV Keystone professional services arms to help us collect, analyse and present our industry data.   

You would be a key member of our GCV Keystone team, helping to collect and manage operational and performance data on CVC firms for our benchmarking platform. The benchmarking data is used to inform top executive decision-making on CVC program development or evolution.  

You would also work closely with the editorial team to help write reports and news stories based on data trends that emerge from both our own and external data sources.  

We are a small but fast-growing team and this is a unique opportunity to be involved in building new products and services as the company expands. The dual role will allow you to work a variety of challenging projects that will allow you to stretch your skills.  

This is a fully-remote role that can be located anywhere, but you must be able to work with team members based in the UK and California time zones.  The salary is in the range of £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience, and benefits will depend on location. Responsibilities: 

• Managing data collection from the annual CVC benchmarking survey 
• Working with editorial on data collection and visualisation projects
• Cleaning and integrating new data sets into our database
• Updating and creating charts and dashboards for the professional services team 
• Providing impactful and easy-to-understand data and charts for editorial news and reports  
• Working with Keystone consultants to perform client-specific benchmarking analysis, produce professional executive deliverables and help develop a self-service data offering 

You should have:  

• A minimum of 2 years of experience extracting insight from data  
• An ability to write clear and accurate copy, particularly with regards to explaining financial or statistical concepts 
• Experience importing, cleaning and analysing large data sets with code. 
• A good knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Qlik.  
• Experience of preparing and building of data models via Tableau Prep Builder 
• Intermediate/advanced skills on MS Excel, including PowerPivot and pivot tables. 
• Some experience of web visualisation with tools such as Javascript, HTML and CSS 
• Familiarity with survey tools such as QuestionPro and Survey Monkey 
• Experience with database administration such as Oracle, PostgreSQL or Salesforce 
• Experience of creating presentations on PowerPoint and Acrobat
