Big Data Platform Engineer Contract

Akkodis is seeking a – Big Data Platform Engineer for a Contract position with a client located in Orlando, FL (Hybrid Once a week).

Pay/Salary Range: $60-$63/hr. (Depends upon experience)

Primary Job Duties:

• ETL Development, Dashboard / Report Development, Quality Assurance
• Top Skills: SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, Snowflake

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Architecture: Design and implement scalable and robust data architectures, data models, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to support data ingestion, storage, and retrieval.

2. Team Leadership: Mentor a team of data engineers, providing guidance, technical expertise, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

3. Data Integration: Integrate and transform data from various sources, including but not limited to databases and APIs, to ensure data consistency and accuracy.

4. Data Quality: Implement data quality assurance checks, validation processes, and data governance standards to maintain data integrity.

5. Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize data pipelines for efficiency, scalability, and reliability. Monitor system performance to proactively address issues.

6. Tool Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate data engineering tools, frameworks, and technologies to meet business requirements and stay up to date with industry trends.

7. Security and Compliance: Implement data security measures, access controls, and compliance standards, to protect sensitive data.

8. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, analysts, software engineers, and stakeholders, to understand their data needs and deliver data solutions.

9. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, systems, and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.

10. Project Management: Oversee data engineering projects, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, to ensure on-time delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

• Nice to Have: Finance background (not a requirement)

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Computer Science
